Synchronization of Mundra Unit#1 celebration was holding in Jinjiang Hotel. The First unit of Mundra 4*330MW power plant (India) developed by Adani Power Ltd constructed by Sichuan Machinery & Equipment Import & Export Co., Ltd was successfully synchronized at 5:45PM on 23^rd May, 2009. Various performance indexes are proved excellent. This Unit has set the shortest-duration record for achieving synchronization in similar units which Chinese companies constructed in India, also a good example for the construction of following units.

We all gather together here tonight in celebration of successful synchronization of India Mundra Thermal Power Project Unit 1#. Hereby, on behalf of Sichuan Machinery & Equipment Import & Export Co., Ltd., I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the guests presenting at the meeting.

The contract of India Mundra Thermal Power Project Phase I was firstly signed between our company and Adani Group. In March of 2007, with another two units added, the gross capacity reached up to 4X330MW. Even so, it only cost us less than two years from the first steel column erection of the boiler Unit 1# dated on July 12, 2007 & turbine foundation in readiness dated on April 19, 2008, till the final one-off synchronization & power generation on May 23, 2009, which created a new record for the shortest period of construction compared to any other unit with the same capacity that had been done a Chinese company in India.

Mundra Project is the largest thermal power project overseas ever since the establishment of our company. In the spirit of pioneering and forging ahead, with a practical and responsible style of work constantly throughout the project planning, signing and construction, our company has conquered massive obstacles in process of financing and a number of technical difficulties during the construction of the project, avoided the risk of Chinese currency appreciation creatively, achieved the target of one-off synchronization successfully, won the honor for Sichuan and made contributions to our country.

The construction and development of our company, especially Indian Mundra project department has been all along supported & helped by relevant government authorities, various functional departments and partners. On behalf of the company, I would hereby take this opportunity to extend our sincerest appreciation to the guidance & support from Sichuan provincial department of commerce, to the assistance provided by EIBC Chengdu Branch, to the help in project financing & risk control of RMB appreciation offered by CCB Sichuan Branch, and to the financing facilities given by CMBC. These all create a better performance environment for the project. Also, I’d like to thank the design institute, key equipment supplier and sub-vendors for providing technologies and equipments of stable quality; thank our client for their faithful cooperation; thank my management team for solidarity &forceful management; and thank all my staff, especially those in Mundra project department who work under tremendous load but with full enthusiasm to ensure smooth implementation of the project.

Successfully synchronize unit#1 at one time is an excellent beginning which has laid a solid foundation for our future victory. In the meantime, we know clearly that it’s a long-term undertaking before we could embrace overall success. We will carry on the pragmatic work style of SCMEC and continue to cooperate with every part involved, struggle for synchronization of following 3 units within the next year so as to repay support from all the present.
